High value, but less affordable? – InBusiness
For the first time ever, Madison and Dane County property values are greater than those in Milwaukee and Milwaukee County.
“Anywhere you look, there is new construction, both residential and commercial,” Grant Smith of Free Agent Realty states. “Madison and Dane County housing values have appreciated, which reflects the strong economics in the area.” Population growth as well as new single-family construction are contributing factors, with the greatest price appreciation being seen on the lower end. “Homes in the lower price points continue to sell quickly,” Smith says.
Smith expects the local Greater Madison real estate market to continue to ride high, as many of the obstacles to an upward property value growth trend have been removed since the Great Recession.
